Mr Dino Arraiol - Head of School Community and Wellbeing MSS

Dear Parents and Carers,

Joey Elsmore - Guest Speaker at Chapel

At Chapel this week, we were pleased to welcome Joey Elsmore from Redlands Baptist Church, who shared a thoughtful message with our students on where and how we can find true peace.

Joey encouraged students to consider that peace is not simply a destination, a place, or something we eventually arrive at when life becomes easier. Rather, peace is found in the presence of Christ and in the way we choose to live, think, and respond. He reminded students that while earthly and material things can offer brief moments of happiness, comfort, or excitement, these feelings are often temporary and can quickly fade.

Sharing from his own experience, Joey spoke about the season after leaving school, where he realised he had been trying to fit in with the crowd rather than leaning into his true identity in Christ. His message encouraged students to reflect on where they seek their sense of belonging, worth, and peace, and to recognise that lasting peace is not found in approval, popularity, or possessions, but in knowing who they are in Christ.

Joey concluded his message with a challenge for our students to make space to seek God, practise gratitude, and surround themselves with people who bring peace, encouragement, and perspective. This is a timely reminder for our students, offering practical strategies to help them navigate the latter part of this term.

Year 9 Service Trip Donations

Each year, our Year 9 students travel to Chinchilla and Tara Shire for their Service Trip in September. As part of this initiative, we are collecting donations of shoes, warm blankets, and winter clothing for students at Tara Shire State College, where many families would benefit from additional support.

In the Middle and Senior School, these donations will replace the usual gold coin contribution for Free Dress at the end of the term; students can bring their items to Form class throughout the term, where their donation will be recorded and permission for Free Dress granted.

CAPA Update

The Wiz Musical - Congratulations!

To all the members of our amazing cast and crew of The Wiz – what a spectacular production you created! From our very first rehearsal where we struggled through the box step in ‘Ease on Down the Road’, to the absolutely phenomenal production at the end, you worked hard, showed patience, perseverance and smashing talent the whole way through!

Proud is an understatement – the students of Calvary created pure magic on stage.  As your guides, we loved every moment and would do it all again in a second.
