Head of School Community & Wellbeing, Carbrook Junior School - Zoe O'Donnell

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last Thursday, we were privileged to welcome Dr Judith Locke for our parent sessions. Her message was both affirming and practical, reminding us that raising capable, resilient young people requires a balance of warmth and high expectations. Judith spoke about the importance of allowing children to experience appropriate challenge, take responsibility for their choices, and develop independence over time. Her insights prompted rich reflection and reinforced the power of partnership between home and school in supporting student growth. Keep an eye on the Principal’s communication for further insights into our commitment to partner with you in growing our young people.

We also enjoyed a wonderful evening together at our student disco. It was fantastic to see such joy, energy and positive behaviour on display. Events like these remind us of the strong sense of belonging within our community.

A reminder that College Leader applications are now open for Stage 2 and Stage 3 students. We encourage those who have demonstrated service to the College to consider applying.

Blog: Stronger Together: The Year 11 Emu Gully Journey

Our Year 11 Emu Gully camp stretches students in every way, and the impact goes far beyond a few tired legs. Read our latest blog featuring reflections from College Captain Zoe Vidins and Head of Stage 6 Mr Paul Heagney, sharing insights from both student and staff perspectives.

Childcare Parking Bays

A friendly reminder that the parking spaces near the bus bay and directly outside Kingdom Kids Early Learning Centre are reserved for Kingdom Kids families only.

Government regulations require us to allocate designated parking for our Early Learning Centre and OSHC. Even with these reserved spaces, we are often at capacity during peak drop-off and pick-up times.

Parents dropping off both Kingdom Kids and school students are asked to use the Kingdom Kids parking area for kindy drop-off only, and then use the western carpark for school drop-off.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
